How to Find the Cheapest Heathrow Parking (2026 Guide)

12 May 20266 min read

Heathrow is the UK's busiest airport, and its parking prices show it. Here's how to cut your costs by planning ahead.

Book early, and we mean early

Heathrow parking prices work like airline seats: the closer you get to your travel date, the more you pay. Booking 6–8 weeks ahead for summer, Easter or Christmas trips usually gets the lowest prices.

If your plans might change, add Cancellation Cover when you book. You get the low early price and can still cancel.

Match the car park to your terminal

Heathrow has four working terminals (2, 3, 4 and 5), and some car parks only serve certain terminals. Check your ticket first. British Airways flies mainly from Terminal 5; most Star Alliance airlines use Terminal 2.

Parking for the wrong terminal can add 20–30 minutes to your journey on the Heathrow Pod or the free Hotel Hoppa transfers.

Park & Ride vs Meet & Greet at Heathrow

For trips of a week or more, Park & Ride is usually the best value. Shuttle buses run 24/7 and take around 10–15 minutes.

Meet & Greet costs more but saves time. You drive straight to the terminal car park and a driver takes your car. It's a good choice for families with young children or anyone on a tight schedule.

Avoid the drop-off charge trap

Getting dropped off at Heathrow now costs £7 per visit, and a friend collecting you pays it again. For a return trip that's £14, plus their fuel and time. For short trips, a few days in a Park & Ride car park can cost about the same.
